![]() Who is Weebug? Right now? Basically just Me! Phill! The author of AntRush! Weebug is simply the trading name under which I distribute AntRush. (Weebug is a trading name of B Smith & Co Pty Ltd) Weebug is owned and operated in Australia. I created AntRush with my two bare hands, while slaving over a hot stove and walking six miles in the snow, uphill both ways! Why are there two versions of AntRush? Is one a Demo? Absolutely not. I hate that word “demo”, that’s why AntRush Free Edition is not a mere demonstration, but full online play with no expiration date! There are only some restrictions to offline game modes. Why do you allow unlimited play in the Free Edition? Many reasons, for starters, it allows you to play your friends, even if they’re too cheap to pay us. More importantly though, as long as I have a say in it, Weebug will demonstrate a “everyone can have a go” philosophy and release a decent free edition for every game developed, with no time restrictions, because expiry dates suck! If you believe that, why charge at all? So those who appreciate AntRush enough to support it, can help it grow! With fans supporting AntRush, I will be able to develop it even further than it has already come! And having the two versions gives those supporters even more than the Free Edition has to offer. So why are you here? Why are any of us here? Only joking, my ultimate goal is to release games to the world that have heart and soul, with a high quality, and a low price. I have a passion for “real” games, games that are fun, well thought out, and passion-driven! Instead of some of the poor excuses for games they often try to market to us today. What does all that “Heart and Soul” stuff mean? When I say a game has heart and soul, I mean the people who design it really want to create it, and truly believe in it! I am truly passionate about AntRush, It’s quite unique, and has always been about making game play as much fun as possible, without taking away from the authenticity of the ants it is based around. It has also been about making it a multiplayer game that can be casually played with friends and strangers alike, in short bursts or day long marathons; I couldn’t imagine not being a part of it. But if we support you and your games, won’t you just eventually become a heartless giant? I hope not! That’s partly why I wrote this vision! No matter how big Weebug gets (when it expands – with your support!) my hope is that it always stays true to the moral of heart-filled games, and free edition releases. If you buy a copy of a game, your brother should be able to play you over your LAN, and even before then, you should be able to see what you’re getting, that’s fair. I always try to be generous with AntRush, and anyone who buys the game will experience a better and less restricted game play than those who don’t. Sincerly, Phill of Weebug |
